appearances by Aunt May, Betty Brant, Ned Leeds, Harry Osborn, Flash
Thompson, Mysterio (in civilian clothes), and the burglar. (Notes: The
Black Cat is the creative highlight of the Wolfman-Pollard run on the
Amazing Spider-Man title. Dave Cockrum designed the cat's costume. The
letters page includes an alternate cover (for issue 194) by Keith
Pollard. It also includes an alternate cover to Spider-Woman 9 by
Carmine Infantino. This two-part story was reprinted in the trade
paperback: Spider-Man vs. the Black Cat (2005). 36 pages, full color.

MANUFACTURING ERROR YELLOW BAR/STRIPE
The error variant featured here seems to be an early print run variant
where a small yellow stripe can be seen at the end of the Marvel Comics
Group
logo, after the comics code authority logo - this seems to be an
error on the magenta printing plate where there is no magenta in this
area (magenta +
yellow = red). The error only seems to be seen on some of the
Direct (comic shop) editions with the issue corrected on later Direct
copies.
Unfortunately, there are no variants listed in the CGC census so there
is no distinction between the Direct error variant, the Direct
corrected variant, or the Newsstand
edition.
